Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) questioned the sincerity of 2024 Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris’s stance on fracking during Friday’s “Inside Politics” on CNN. Despite claims that she no longer supports an outright ban on fracking, Mullin argued that Harris has not provided a clear plan for regulating the industry.

Mullin pointed out that Harris’s past actions and statements suggest she is not in favor of the oil and gas industry. He cited her support for the Green New Deal and her desire to phase out combustible engines, as well as her backing of California’s rule on the issue. Mullin also highlighted the administration’s decision to revoke permits for LNG exports to US allies.

Mullin emphasized that Harris’s position on fossil fuels has remained consistent, despite her recent claims. He expressed skepticism about her assertion that she does not support an outright ban on fracking, arguing that she has not provided details on how she plans to regulate the industry. Mullin urged Harris to clarify her stance, suggesting that if she is serious about reducing inflation, she must also be serious about increasing domestic energy production and reducing reliance on foreign imports, such as those from Saudi Arabia.
