White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre clarified Monday at a heated press briefing that President Joe Biden has seen a neurologist three times throughout his presidency.

The press secretary disputed claims that Dr. Kevin Cannard, a specialist in treating people with Parkinson’s disease, has visited the White House eight times within the past eight months. Jean-Pierre confirmed that Biden typically sees a neurologist during his annual physical examinations.

“He sees a neurologist at his physical, which is standard,” Jean-Pierre declared, emphasizing that the president has seen the neurologist three times during his presidency.

Further, Jean-Pierre explained that confidentiality protocols prevent the White House from divulging the names of specialists who consult with the president, citing security reasons as the primary concern.

“We are unable to share names of specialists, whether that be a dermatologist or a neurologist,” Jean-Pierre stated during a tense exchange with CBS News reporter Ed O’Keefe. “There are security reasons that will not allow us to share that.”

Several White House visitor logs have surface recently, revealing that Cannard reportedly made eight visits to the White House over a period of nine months. Critics have raised concerns about Biden’s mental and physical fitness, particularly following the heated debate between Biden and former President Donald Trump. Biden and his campaign have emphasized his commitment to serving another term, despite mounting pressure to vacate the presidency.
