Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has challenged former President Donald Trump to a debate at the upcoming Libertarian convention. Kennedy believes this event would provide a neutral platform for them to discuss their records and policies.
Although some conservatives have criticized Kennedy for his far-left views and pointed out that he is not a moderate alternative to Trump, Kennedy asserts that he is drawing support from some of Trump’s former backers. He has also called out biased polling methodologies used by the media and expressed willingness to debate Trump at the convention.
Kennedy’s offer comes amidst concerns from conservatives about his political leanings. Donald Trump Jr. has highlighted Kennedy’s radical views and criticized conservative media for not challenging him on his positions. However, Libertarian Party chair Angela McArdle sees Trump’s appearance at the convention as an opportunity to advance the message of liberty and discuss important issues such as foreign policy and peace.
