Pro-Palestinian activists at Columbia University recently demanded that the university provide them with food and drink while they illegally occupied Hamilton Hall. The spokesperson, Johanna King-Slutzky, likened their demands to Hamas terrorists requesting humanitarian aid from Israel after attacking them. She argued that students had paid for the meal plan and deserved to be fed while protesting on campus.

However, after the activists refused to leave Hamilton Hall, the New York Police Department was called in to remove them. Despite previous pledges from the university not to involve the NYPD, negotiations with the protesters failed, leading to their removal. This incident comes after similar protests at other universities, where students were allowed to bring in supplies and use facilities.

The actions of the Columbia activists have raised concerns about their tactics and demands. It remains to be seen how the university will handle future protests on campus.
