President Biden’s Inaccurate Claim on Border Security During Debate Draws Fire from Critics

President Joe Biden has drawn criticism for his claims about immigration during the debate, particularly his assertion that the border is “better” under his administration. His statement has been widely disputed, with fact-checkers pointing out that the number of illegal immigrants crossing the border has increased significantly since Trump’s presidency.

Recent events have highlighted the gravity of the situation. The Justice Department has arrested eight suspected terrorists who illegally crossed the border from Tajikistan, and the Department of Homeland Security has identified a smuggling network affiliated with ISIS that has brought over 400 illegal border crossers.

The brutal assault and murder of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray, who was bound, strangled, and dumped in a bayou, has also sparked outrage. Biden’s failure to label this heinous act as terrorism has been met with condemnation.

According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection data, there have been 6.4 million encounters with illegal immigrants outside ports of entry since Biden took office, a more than quadruple increase from the average during Trump’s administration.

Biden’s critics argue that his claims are not only inaccurate but also put voters at risk. His repeated lies about the border, including his denial that the Border Patrol union endorsed him, have damaged his credibility. The union has explicitly denied endorsing Biden, saying they will “never have and never will endorse him.”

With a record like Biden’s, it’s hard to understand why he would expect border officers to support him.
