Picsart, a photo-editing startup backed by SoftBank, has announced a partnership with Getty Images to develop a custom AI model that will provide its 150 million users with responsible and high-quality imagery. The model will be built from scratch and trained exclusively on Getty Images’ licensed creative content, allowing Picsart subscribers to generate unique images with full commercial rights.
Users will be able to utilize Picsart’s editing tools to customize and enhance the AI-generated assets. By creating its own model, Picsart aims to provide its users with safe and reliable AI creative tools, addressing concerns over AI-generated images and copyright issues.
Picsart’s AI lab, PAIR, is responsible for building the model, which will be accessible through the company’s API services. “Picsart offers a vast range of customization, content, and editing tools for various applications, from social media ads to website graphics,” said Picsart CEO and founder Hovhannes Avoyan. “We’re excited to partner with Getty Images to bring commercially usable AI-generated imagery to the market.”
The partnership will enable Picsart to launch its AI model later this year, providing users with access to high-quality, commercial-grade imagery. Additionally, Getty Images’ video content will be integrated into Picsart’s platform, making it available to Plus members.
