An Ohio woman, Stacie LaRiccia, has been indicted on multiple charges for allegedly stealing about $40,000 from a cancer fund for her former boss.
A grand jury in Cuyahoga County has charged LaRiccia with grand theft, theft, theft in office, tampering with records, and receiving stolen property.
The indictment alleges that LaRiccia took $36,668 from a fundraiser intended to help Michael Fording and his family with medical bills. Fording was a well-respected principal at Brush High School who passed away from cancer in November.
Lyndhurst Police Detective Lt. Michael Scipione initiated the investigation in January, leading to the indictment.
Additionally, LaRiccia is accused of stealing $4,135 from Brush High School between August 17, 2023, and March 15, 2024.
She is expected to appear in court to answer to the charges.
