Communities across the United States are struggling to provide for the needs of millions of illegal immigrants released into the country by President Joe Biden. Meanwhile, left-wing nonprofit organizations serving migrants are seeing a significant increase in revenues.
A recent examination by the Free Press of three prominent nonprofit organizations receiving funding for migrant services from the Biden administration revealed that their revenues have more than tripled since 2018. Each CEO of these organizations earns over $500,000 annually.
For example, Global Refuge’s revenue jumped from $50 million in 2018 to over $200 million in 2022. CEO Krish O’Mara Vignarajah’s salary increased from $244,000 to $520,000 during the same period. Another organization, Endeavors, was awarded over $1 billion in 2022 and spent large sums on various expenses, including music therapy and lobbying.
These nonprofits benefit from the Department of Health and Human Services’s Unaccompanied Children Program, which provides housing, feeding, and education for children caught crossing the border alone. However, the program has faced issues of fraud and abuse under HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra’s leadership.
The Biden administration has funneled billions of dollars to these nonprofit groups and others through various federal programs, leading to concerns about lack of oversight and potential misuse of funds. Biden’s statements about the country’s ability to absorb more migrants raise questions about the administration’s spending priorities.
It is crucial for Congress to address the border crisis and ensure that taxpayer dollars are used responsibly and effectively.
