Israel declared on Wednesday that it would not offer condolences for the death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, who perished in a helicopter crash on Sunday. His funeral took place in Tehran, Iran, on Wednesday.

Israeli government spokesperson David Mencier addressed reporters following reports that Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh attended the funeral, along with other terrorist figures, including a senior Hezbollah official.

When asked by Truth Voices if Israel would offer condolences to Iran for Raisi’s death, Mencier responded: “No, we don’t express our condolences.”

He elaborated that Raisi headed a tyrannical, murderous regime and represented an unusual case where “a UN member, Iran, seeks to destroy another UN member, Israel.”

“There are no tears in Israel being shed for the death of this tyrant [Raisi] … Any of these sort of fake expressions of regret about what has happened to these Iranian leaders — it turns our stomach, to be blunt.”
