A new survey of voters in key battleground states reveals that Tuesday’s debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump had little impact on their voting intentions.
The Trafalgar-Insider Advantage poll, conducted among likely general election voters in seven crucial swing states, found that the debate did not significantly shift the needle in either candidate’s favor. Prior to the debate, both Harris and Trump were tied at 47 percent support.
When asked to declare a winner, respondents gave Harris a narrow edge, with 55 percent saying she performed better, compared to 42.5 percent for Trump. However, when asked to reconsider their vote in light of the debate performances, the candidates remained tied, with 48 percent supporting each. Three percent of respondents were undecided, while 1 percent opted for “other.”
Interestingly, the survey also found that voters trust Trump more than Harris on key issues such as the economy and immigration, which have consistently ranked high on the list of voter concerns.
