New York District Attorney Chooses Not to Stop for Police Due to Personal Preference

A district attorney in New York refused to stop for speeding when a police officer tried to pull her over. Instead, she drove back to her house and called the chief of police to complain that she “didn’t feel like stopping” and demanded to be left alone. The Monroe County District Attorney, Sandra Doorley, faced backlash after police body camera footage of the incident was released. Doorley admitted to speeding in a 35 mph zone, but justified her actions by claiming her house was nearby. She dismissed the officer’s concerns and refused to cooperate, even calling him an “asshole.” Doorley later apologized for her behavior and accepted responsibility for the traffic offense. She emphasized that nobody, including herself, is above the law and reiterated her commitment to public safety and respect for law enforcement.
