New York Attorney General Files Lawsuit Against Pregnancy Centers for Abortion Pill Reversal

New York Attorney General Letitia James has launched a lawsuit against nearly a dozen pregnancy centers for providing abortion pill reversal treatments. James alleges that the centers made false and misleading statements about these treatments, which she claims amount to fraud and deceptive business practices under New York law. This lawsuit comes as the U.S. Supreme Court considers the legality of FDA-approved abortion pills and their expansion for mail-order use.

Despite James’ claims that abortion pill reversal is not backed by science, several studies have shown that it is safe and effective in reversing attempted abortions induced by mifepristone. James’ focus on pregnancy centers offering this treatment is ironic given the risks and complications associated with mifepristone, which has led to a significant increase in emergency room visits.

As James continues her legal actions against pro-lifers and pregnancy centers, New York has allocated $36 million in its 2025 budget to support abortion providers and expand access to abortion services. Governor Kathy Hochul approved this budget, providing millions of dollars in taxpayer funding for abortion nonprofits and security grants for abortion facilities.
