New Jersey Poll Stuns with Trump’s Slight Lead Over Biden

A recent poll in New Jersey, a state that’s gone for the Democratic presidential candidate every year since 1992, has stirred surprise by showing a narrow lead for former President Donald Trump over President Joe Biden. According to the co/efficient poll, Trump leads Biden 41-40 percent among likely voters, with 7 percent supporting third-party candidates and 13 percent undecided.

Biden’s approval ratings in the state are underwater, with only 36 percent of voters approving of his performance and 56 percent disapproving. In contrast, Trump’s approval ratings are significantly higher, with 50 percent disapproving and 45 percent approving of his time in office.

Trump also enjoys stronger support from his fellow Republicans, with 82 percent saying they will vote for him, compared to 65 percent of Democrats who will vote for Biden. Additionally, Trump has a strong following among Republicans, with 88 percent approving of him and only 10 percent disapproving.

Hispanic voters in New Jersey are also a crucial demographic for Trump, with 41 percent approving of him and 30 percent approving of Biden. Biden is also deeply unpopular among young voters, ages 18-34, with only 23 percent approving of him and 68 percent disapproving.

The poll was conducted on June 26-27 and included 810 likely voters, with a margin of error of plus or minus 3.42 percentage points. The poll suggests that Trump’s campaign is not without hope in New Jersey.

Scott Pressler, who has provided invaluable assistance in registering voters, certainly looks to have taken this new poll as a motivator to “keep registering new voters everywhere,” as he pointed out “High turnout helps Trump.” This is a critical point, as Biden has tended to do better with those most likely to vote.
