Rachel Morin, a 37-year-old mother of five, was brutally murdered in Harford County, Maryland, in a case that has left her family and community reeling. Her death is a stark reminder of the human cost of the Biden-Harris administration’s handling of the US-Mexico border.

Patty Morin, Rachel’s mother, is among those who are speaking out about the failure of the administration to effectively control the border. Morin blames the administration’s policies for her daughter’s death, which was allegedly carried out by an MS-13 gang member who had crossed the border multiple times.

During a recent town hall meeting, Vice President Kamala Harris defended the administration’s record on immigration, citing the arrival of approximately eight million migrants in the US since 2021. However, Morin’s experience suggests that the administration’s policies have allowed known criminals to enter the country undetected.

In a statement, Morin expressed her outrage and grief over Harris’s comments. “Hearing Vice President Harris say they did the right thing is a painful reminder of the failure that led to the death of my daughter,” she said. “Why didn’t they do both if it was within their power to act in 2022 or 2023?” Morin’s question highlights the criticism that the administration has not done enough to prevent known criminals from entering the country.

The murder of Rachel Morin is a tragic example of the consequences of the administration’s policies. On August 5, 2023, she went for a walk on the Ma & Pa Heritage Trail in Harford County, Maryland, but never returned home. Her boyfriend reported her missing the next day, and her body was found on the side of the trail.

An investigation led to the arrest of 23-year-old Victor Antonio Martinez Hernandez, an illegal alien from El Salvador with ties to the MS-13 gang. Prosecutors allege that Martinez Hernandez brutally raped, bludgeoned, and strangled Rachel to death in what they describe as the most horrific case in Harford County history.

Martinez Hernandez had been previously apprehended by Border Patrol agents on three occasions in 2023, but was released back into Mexico each time. He is among more than two million known illegal aliens who have successfully crossed the border on the Biden and Harris watch.

Before crossing the border, Martinez Hernandez was accused of murdering a woman in his native El Salvador after leaving a bar with the victim. The woman’s body was discovered days later. Martinez Hernandez’s history of violence and his ties to the MS-13 gang raise questions about what measures the administration could have taken to prevent him from entering the country.
