The mother of slain actor Johnny Wactor is seeking justice for her son’s brutal murder, hoping the perpetrators will receive life sentences without the possibility of parole.
Los Angeles police apprehended four individuals on Thursday in connection with the fatal shooting of the former “General Hospital” star.
Speaking on NewsNation’s “Banfield” on Thursday, Scarlett Wactor expressed her desire for severe punishment, stating, “I want them to be locked away for a very long time. If they receive a limited sentence and are eligible for parole, they’ll be released at a younger age than my son was when he was killed. That’s not enough for me.”
Three suspects face murder charges, while the fourth individual was booked as an accessory to the crime.
According to an LAPD news release, officers executed search warrants early Thursday morning, leading to the arrests and the recovery of additional evidence. However, no further details have been disclosed regarding the arrests or the evidence obtained.
Wactor, 37, was shot and killed on May 25 during a botched catalytic converter theft in Los Angeles. Police reported that he had left his workplace at a rooftop bar with a coworker when he encountered three men attempting to steal from his vehicle. One of the suspects allegedly fired at Wactor without provocation, resulting in his death.
Witnesses claim that Wactor had shielded his coworker from the gunfire, demonstrating his selfless nature.
Wactor, who appeared in 164 episodes of “General Hospital” as Brando Corbin from 2020 to 2022, also had roles in other notable shows such as “Westworld” and “Criminal Minds.” His agent, David Shaul, remembered him as someone who “always kept his chin up and strived to be the best he could be.”
Earlier in the week, Scarlett Wactor spoke at a news conference, describing the overwhelming grief she has experienced since her son’s passing. “Grief is my constant companion,” she said. “I’ll never get to wish him a happy birthday on August 31, when he would have turned 38. I’ll never get to ask him if he’s coming home for Christmas or how his day went.”
