During a recent appearance on “CUOMO,” Breanna Micciolo, the mother of Corey Micciolo, speculated that Christopher Gregor’s harsh treadmill workouts for their son may have been influenced by his own childhood trauma.

Micciolo stated, “Gregor never admitted the abuse to me, and my theory is that his father, who was a state trooper, might have made him workout excessively. Gregor took it too far by imposing his trauma on Corey due to the hatred he holds towards me.”

The New Jersey father, Christopher Gregor, was found guilty last week of aggravated manslaughter and child endangerment in relation to the death of his 6-year-old son following a four-week trial. The court heard testimonies from various witnesses regarding the circumstances that led to Corey Micciolo’s tragic death.

Initially charged with first-degree murder and child endangerment, Gregor was accused of making his son run at high speeds on a treadmill in their apartment gym. The surveillance video showcased Gregor consistently increasing the treadmill’s speed, leading to Corey falling off the equipment six times.

Breanna Micciolo stated that she had reported suspected abuse over 100 times within 18 months, but authorities took no action before Corey’s tragic death.

Expressing her concerns, Micciolo mentioned on “CUOMO,” “It’s appalling that DCP&P (Division of Child Protection & Permanency) had the treadmill video a week before Corey’s passing. They visited Gregor’s house, documented his bruises, but that was the extent of their actions.”

Micciolo also shared that she faced multiple excuses from caseworkers and emphasized the preventable nature of Corey’s death if timely intervention occurred. She blamed DCP&P for not acting when they had evidence of the abuse.
