A recent poll conducted by WDIV/Detroit News has revealed a narrow lead for former President Donald Trump over Vice President Kamala Harris in Michigan. The poll, which surveyed likely voters between August 26 and August 29, found that 44.7 percent of respondents supported Trump, while 43.5 percent backed Harris.

The same poll also showed that 4.7 percent of voters supported independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., while 2.3 percent expressed support for a third-party candidate, and 4.8 percent remained undecided.

Among definite voters, the poll found that 45.7 percent supported Harris, while 44.1 percent backed Trump. Kennedy received 3.9 percent of the vote, while 2.3 percent supported a third-party candidate, and 3.9 percent were still undecided.

This latest poll comes on the heels of a previous survey conducted by ActiVote between July 28 and August 28, 2024, which found Harris leading Trump 50.1 percent to 49.9 percent among likely voters.

Another poll conducted by AARP between August 7 and 8, 2024, found Trump leading Harris 45 percent to 43 percent in Michigan, with Kennedy receiving six percent of the vote.

A recent Reuters/Ipsos survey also found Trump leading Harris in seven key battleground states, including Wisconsin, Georgia, Arizona, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Michigan, and Nevada. The survey found that Trump held a 45 percent to 43 percent lead over Harris in these states, where the 2020 election was closest.
