Justice Juan Merchan rejected the request for a mistrial by former President Donald Trump’s defense team on Tuesday regarding Stormy Daniels’ testimony at his business records trial in Manhattan.
The defense argued that Daniels’ testimony was prejudicial and intended to influence the jury.
Despite objections from the defense, Merchan denied the motion for a mistrial but placed restrictions on how the jury could use her testimony.
The case is titled New York v. Trump, No. 71543-23, in the New York Supreme Court for New York County.
