According to a recent survey conducted by Harvard-Harris in April, the majority of respondents believe that President Joe Biden’s performance as president is worsening. The survey asked participants whether they think Biden is improving, getting worse, or staying the same.

The results revealed that 47 percent of respondents think Biden is getting worse, while only 29 percent believe he is improving. About 24 percent of respondents think he is staying the same.

The survey also found that a significant number of Republicans and independents, 76 percent and 52 percent respectively, believe Biden is getting worse as president. On the other hand, 55 percent of Democrats believe he is improving.

Furthermore, the survey showed that 52 percent of white Americans, 34 percent of black Americans, 38 percent of Hispanic Americans, and 36 percent of Asian Americans think Biden’s performance is deteriorating. Additionally, 64 percent of respondents believe that Biden’s public slip-ups are becoming more frequent.

Concerns about Biden’s age and mental fitness were also highlighted in the survey. A majority, 55 percent, expressed doubts about his mental fitness, with Republicans showing higher levels of doubt at 80 percent compared to independents (62 percent) and Democrats (26 percent).

Overall, 66 percent of respondents believe Biden is showing that he is too old to be president. This sentiment was particularly strong among Republicans (91 percent) and independents (77 percent), with a smaller percentage of Democrats (34 percent) sharing this view.

The survey was conducted on April 24-25, 2024, among 1,961 registered voters with a margin of error of plus or minus two percent.
