New evidence has been uncovered in the case of Rex Heuermann, who is charged with murder in the deaths of multiple women found near Long Island’s Gilgo Beach, according to attorney John Ray. Ray, who is representing relatives of the Gilgo Beach victims, is scheduled to hold a press conference and release this new evidence on Thursday morning in New York.

Heuermann, an architect, was arrested last July in connection with the killings of Megan Waterman, Melissa Barthelemy, Amber Lynn Costello, and Maureen Brainard-Barnes. Last month, he was given additional second-degree murder charges in connection with the deaths of Jessica Taylor and Sandra Costilla. Heuermann has pleaded not guilty to all charges against him.

The investigation into the deaths of at least 10 people, most of whom were sex workers, has been ongoing since 2010. The victims’ remains were discovered along an isolated highway not far from Gilgo Beach. The victims had gone missing over a span of at least 14 years, with the first reported disappearance dating back to 1996.
