Gov. Kristi Noem (R-SD) raised concerns about the safety of Secret Service agents in light of President Joe Biden’s dog Commander attacking them. Noem faced backlash for shooting a dog named Cricket, which she deemed dangerous, and mentioned in her upcoming book how she would ensure Biden’s dog stayed away from the White House. Noem questioned the threshold for attacks before a decision should be made regarding a dog’s fate, citing the number of Secret Service personnel harmed by Commander. Despite criticism and errors found in her book, Noem refused to retract any parts. She is still considered a potential running mate for former President Trump.
