Hunter Biden’s gun trial unveiled more critical details on its fourth day.

The trial will continue at 9:00 a.m. on Friday with two defense witnesses: an FBI chemist and a DEA drug expert. The prosecution is expected to rest afterward. CNN reports that the defense has not decided if Hunter will testify.

  1. Hunter Biden’s revolver went missing after Hallie Biden disposed of it in a dumpster behind a supermarket in Wilmington, Delaware, in 2018, she testified. Hallie is Hunter’s ex and the widow of his brother.
  2. Prosecutors questioned Hallie on how Hunter learned about the missing gun. Hallie responded, “I did not tell him,” according to court reporters. “I was just going to pretend like it wasn’t me.”
  3. An 80-year-old man informed the jury he discovered Hunter’s gun in the dumpster. A state trooper confirmed the gun was in the man’s possession.
  4. Hallie discussed Hunter’s text messages in her testimony. One message from October 13, 2018, involving a “dealer named Mookie” in Wilmington was highlighted. Another message from October 14 was also shown to the jury, in which Hunter wrote, “I was sleeping on a car smoking crack,” court reporters noted. According to NBC, these texts are the “clearest pieces of evidence” against Hunter, suggesting he used drugs in October, the month of the incident.
  5. The prosecution revealed it lacks access to the complete contents of Hunter’s laptop, NBC News reported: “After the laptop was seized by investigators, the data went through a filter team to preserve any privilege issues… Because any privilege would belong to Hunter Biden, the defense was provided with the complete hard drive image, which means it has more evidence from the laptop that prosecutors don’t have.”

Notable mention:

  • Judge Noreika criticized the defense for attempting to admit unseen text messages during Hallie’s testimony.
