A gruesome discovery was made at a residence in Mount Olivet, Kentucky, when a man hired to work on the property stumbled upon a dismembered body in the backyard. The body was later identified as 52-year-old Trudy Fields, the mother of 32-year-old Torilena May Fields, who was arrested and charged in connection with the crime.

According to authorities, the man who made the disturbing find called the Kentucky State Police on Wednesday, prompting an investigation and search of the home. Upon arrival, officers found the dismembered corpse in the backyard, leading them to obtain a search warrant for the residence. As police attempted to make contact with Torilena Fields, who was inside the house, she initially refused to exit. However, after deploying gas and using a robot to communicate with her, she eventually emerged without incident, with visible signs of blood on her face, hands, and clothing.

As police continued to investigate, they discovered a steel pot in the oven containing human remains, further implicating Torilena Fields in the crime. She has been charged with abusing a corpse, evidence tampering, and obstructing government operations, with the possibility of additional charges pending.

The man who reported the body told authorities that he had visited the residence on Tuesday evening, where he encountered both Torilena and Trudy Fields. He reported that Torilena had been acting erratically, “casting spells” on him and being confrontational, and noted that she may have been under the influence of drugs.

The investigation is ongoing, with Torilena Fields due to be arraigned next week. It is unclear at this time if she has retained counsel to represent her in the matter.
