A federal court has blocked the implementation of Joe Biden’s revised Title IX education rules in six additional states, following a lawsuit filed by a West Virginia middle school girl who was forced to compete in school sports with a boy who identifies as a transgender girl.

This latest ruling comes on the heels of a similar decision in Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, and Idaho, which joined forces to challenge the new rules. Last week, U.S. District Judge Terry A. Doughty criticized the changes, calling them an “abuse of power” and a “threat to democracy.”

The new ruling adds to the controversy surrounding Biden’s changes, with critics arguing that they are impossible to reconcile with the original purpose of the federal education rules. The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky stated that the new rules “mandate that schools permit biological men into women’s intimate spaces, and women into men’s, within the educational environment based entirely on a person’s subjective gender identity.”

This decision brings the total number of states where Biden’s rules have been temporarily blocked to ten. Women’s sports advocate Riley Gaines celebrated the win, saying, “This is a huge win. I don’t think we would have seen this kind of decisive action two years ago. The gender ideology house of cards is crumbling. And it’s crumbling fast.”
