MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough discussed recent polling data on Monday, suggesting that Donald Trump’s conviction could spell defeat for the former president in battleground states. According to the polling, 7% of Republicans and 21% of independents are less likely to support Trump due to his conviction on 34 counts of falsifying business records.

Scarborough emphasized the significance of these numbers, pointing out that a swing of this magnitude could tip the scales in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, all of which are 50/50 races. “If these numbers hold, you don’t need a majority or a plurality to swing the election,” he said.

Scarborough also criticized those who believe that Trump’s conviction was orchestrated by President Joe Biden’s Department of Justice. “I can’t understand how people can be so misinformed or biased that they think a jury of 12 jurors in a New York state case would be manipulated by Joe Biden,” he said. “They’re just not trying very hard to be informed.”
