JD Vance: Democrats Have Become ‘Anti-Family and Anti-Kid’

JD Vance, the running mate of former President Donald Trump, is standing by his comments that the Democratic Party has become “anti-family and anti-child.” In an interview with Megyn Kelly, Vance said that his remarks were taken out of context and that he was not criticizing individuals who are unable to have children.

Vance explained that his point was that the Democratic Party’s policies and rhetoric have become hostile to families and children. He cited examples such as the masking of toddlers years after the pandemic ended and the Harris campaign’s opposition to the child tax credit.

“We have to ask ourselves why the Democrats are taking these positions,” Vance said. “It’s because they have become anti-family and anti-kid. They’re not just neutral on these issues, they’re actively working against the interests of families and children.”

Vance also pushed back against critics who accused him of being heartless and insensitive to women who are unable to have children. He noted that he had explicitly stated that his comments were not intended to criticize individuals who are unable to have children, but rather to highlight the Democratic Party’s anti-family and anti-child agenda.

“I know that there are many people who are unable to have children for a variety of reasons, and I’m not criticizing them,” Vance said. “My criticism is directed at the Democratic Party and its policies, which are harming families and children.”

Vance’s comments were initially met with outrage from the establishment media and Hollywood elites, who accused him of being insensitive and misogynistic. However, Vance’s campaign has pushed back against these criticisms, arguing that his comments were taken out of context and that he is committed to standing up for families and children.

In a 2021 interview with Tucker Carlson, Vance had made similar comments about the country being run by “childless cat ladies” and other Democrat voting blocs. However, he also noted that this was not a criticism of individuals who are unable to have children, but rather a commentary on the fact that the country is being run by people who do not have a stake in the game.

Vance’s campaign has released a clip of him addressing these caveats, which debunks the caricature of Vance as a heartless politician who does not care about the plight of women who are unable to have children.
