The commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Maj. Gen. Hossein Salami, stated that his regime is expanding its conflict with Israel and America in order to accelerate the downfall of both nations. Salami claimed that the end of America and Israel is imminent and called on all Muslim nations to join forces against free societies to prevent the enemy from infiltrating Muslim states.

Salami mentioned that Iran, either directly or through its terrorist proxies, has prevented Israel from accessing parts of the Mediterranean Sea. He emphasized the need for Muslim countries to unite in attacking Israel to protect Muslim assets and identities.

While reports did not detail specific IRGC operations in the Mediterranean, the Iran-backed “Islamic Resistance in Iraq” claimed to have targeted Israeli-operated platforms in the Mediterranean with drone strikes. The Houthis, another Iranian proxy, also threatened to attack ships heading to Israeli ports in the Mediterranean.

Additionally, the IRGC deployed its first warship into the Southern Hemisphere for a long-distance mission. Salami affirmed that Iran’s actions were aimed at defending national security and supporting terrorism against Israel to safeguard Muslim dignity.

Salami’s remarks came after an airstrike in Damascus that killed an IRGC commander, leading to tensions between Iran and Israel. The IRGC is a designated terrorist organization and a formal arm of the Iranian military.

The ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza intensified with Israel’s military operation in Rafah. The Biden administration decided to halt a shipment of bombs to Israel out of concern for their use in Rafah. Iran and the Muslim world have criticized Israel’s activities in Gaza, which they claim is in response to Iran’s direct involvement in supporting Hamas atrocities.
