A 22-year-old social media influencer and OnlyFans content creator, Michael Doherty, has spoken out against a left-wing agency’s attempt to recruit him to create anti-Donald Trump content for a Democrat super PAC. Despite his conservative leanings, Doherty was approached by Palette MGMT, an influencer marketing firm, to produce a TikTok video criticizing Trump.
The proposal, which offered Doherty $1,500, was made on behalf of Future Forward, the largest Democrat super PAC, which has reportedly amassed $150 million in pledges since President Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the presidential race. The agency’s senior marketing coordinator, Fernanda Oliveira Araujo, suggested that Doherty create a man-on-the-street-style video that would portray Trump as a bigot.
One idea pitched by Oliveira Araujo was for Doherty to ask voters to identify quotes as either coming from Trump or a “racist uncle at Thanksgiving.” However, the agency stipulated that the video could not show any support for Trump or his allies, and that any humorous moments featuring Trump would require context.
Doherty, a Long Island native, expressed his surprise and outrage at the request, stating that he was shocked by the agency’s willingness to pay people to disparage Trump. He also criticized the agency for not researching his background, saying, “Just because I do OnlyFans, doesn’t mean I whore out my values. I would never sell out for Kamala Harris.”
Doherty’s social media presence is marked by his conservative views and patriotic imagery, including wearing American flag underwear and shooting guns on his OnlyFans page. His refusal to create anti-Trump content has sparked a debate about the intersection of politics and social media influencing.
