An interview with women’s college basketball legend and Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark has resulted in a two-week suspension for Indy Star reporter Gregg Doyel.

Doyel was disciplined for his interaction with Clark. Indy Star spokesperson Lark-Marie Anton confirmed that Doyel will not be covering the Indiana Fever games.

The incident occurred when Doyel made a heart symbol with his hands before asking Clark a question, prompting a controversial response from him.

This led to a backlash on social media, followed by Doyel issuing an apology. Doyel’s suspension prohibits him from covering any of Clark’s games live this summer. His last article for the Indy Star was on April 29.
