Recent data from the Arizona secretary of state reveals that Republicans in Arizona are expanding their voter registration advantage over Democrats. In 2020, Republicans led Democrats by about 130,000 registered voters. By November 2022, this gap had increased to 166,000, representing an additional 36,000 individuals. As of 2024, Republicans hold a 5.77 percent advantage over Democrats, with 236,000 more registered voters, a growth of 106,000 since 2020.

Additionally, Republicans lead registered independents by almost 40,000 voters, indicating a significant shift in voter registration trends. This pattern is reflected in other key swing states as well. For instance, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Nevada, and Florida have all seen reductions in the voter registration advantage Democrats previously held. Florida, in particular, now shows a significant advantage for Republicans, with nearly 900,000 more registered voters.

The trend of increasing Republican voter registration coincides with concerns over immigration policies, particularly in Arizona, where President Biden’s open border policies are causing disruptions. The data also highlights Trump’s lead over Biden in battleground states, including Arizona. Lara Trump, a co-chair of the Republican National Committee, emphasized the party’s efforts to register voters and secure victories in key states for the upcoming elections.
