The accusations made against Biden are reminiscent of those made against former President Donald Trump in 2019 for withholding military aid from Ukraine for alleged political reasons. Republicans, including Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR), argue that based on the precedent set by the Trump-Ukraine scandal, Biden should face impeachment for similar actions.
Former President Trump also believes that Biden’s decision to withhold aid was politically motivated, criticizing him for not making decisions based on what is right rather than what is politically convenient.
