A tragic incident occurred in Robeson County, North Carolina when Mica Miller called 911 on April 27 to report that she was planning to take her own life. Within minutes, deputies were dispatched to Lumber River State Park where her body was discovered just nine minutes after her call. Sheriff Burnis Wilkins expressed his condolences to Miller’s family and friends in a news release.

Miller’s estranged husband, John-Paul, was informed of the findings but declined to attend the meeting with officials in North Carolina, choosing to be updated at his home in Horry County. It was confirmed that he was in Charleston at the time of Mica’s death, as he was seen on Highway 17 Bypass in Horry County at 2:22 p.m. Miller, who was a senior pastor at Solid Rock Church, had been served divorce papers two days prior to the tragic event.

Details of the events leading up to Mica’s death were outlined by Robeson County sheriff’s deputies. She purchased a gun at a pawn shop less than three hours before her death and was found to have searched for a national park nearby. Sheriff Wilkins addressed the speculation surrounding the incident, emphasizing the thorough investigation conducted by the Criminal Investigations Team and Crime Scene Investigation Team.
