Hunter Biden’s legal team recently demanded that Fox News remove “hacked” and “intimate” images from their news site or face a potential lawsuit. Despite Hunter’s claims that the images were hacked, the Department of Justice confirmed that the contents found on his laptop matched what was obtained through a search warrant of Hunter’s iCloud.
The DOJ also revealed that Hunter had left his laptop at a computer store for repair before it was turned over to the FBI. The chain of custody of the laptop was well established, according to reports.
In response to the demand, Fox News defended their reporting as constitutionally protected coverage of a public figure. Hunter Biden is facing multiple tax and gun-related indictments, as well as a House impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden. Allegations of sex trafficking and FARA violations have also been made against him by Republican lawmakers.
Hunter’s legal team also requested network hosts Sean Hannity, Jesse Waters, and Maria Bartiromo to preserve documentation and take down certain content related to Hunter Biden’s business dealings. Fox News has refused to comply with these demands, citing their First Amendment rights to report on public figures like Hunter Biden.
