The House Judiciary Committee is intensifying its investigation into the Department of Homeland Security’s handling of illegal aliens accused of crimes against Americans. In a subpoena issued to DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, the committee demands detailed information on how and when specific illegal aliens entered the United States and committed their offenses.

Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) lamented the lack of cooperation from Mayorkas, stating in the subpoena’s cover letter that the department’s response to date has been inadequate. The committee’s inquiry stems from a series of requests dating back to October 2023, which have yielded no meaningful answers.

The subpoena specifically targets a group of accused illegal alien criminals, including the six migrant men charged with mobbing two NYPD officers. In April, the committee asked for the men’s A-Files, which contain important information about their immigration histories. However, Mayorkas failed to provide the requested data.

The committee is also seeking information about a Venezuelan illegal alien accused of sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl in Campbell County, Virginia. Investigations have revealed that this individual was able to successfully cross the US-Mexico border or was apprehended and released into the interior of the country as a result of President Joe Biden’s Catch and Release policy.

Both of these cases, as well as several others, involve individuals who crossed the border or were released into the United States, highlighting the alleged failures of Biden’s immigration policies. The House Judiciary Committee’s subpoena to Mayorkas signals its determination to get to the bottom of these issues and hold those responsible accountable.
