House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries is set to hold a private meeting with top-ranking Democrats on House committees to discuss President Joe Biden’s prospects in the 2024 election. The meeting comes as Biden continues to face pressure from within his own party to drop out of the race.

The meeting is scheduled for Sunday at 2 p.m. and will reportedly focus on Biden’s declining health and the Democratic Party’s concerns that the 81-year-old president will cost them the election in November. Since Biden’s disastrous debate performance, there has been mounting pressure from Democrats, Republicans, and voters for him to step aside.

Jeffries has been publicly critical of Biden’s debate performance, describing it as “underwhelming” and a “setback.” However, sources close to the situation have said that Jeffries has been careful not to suppress criticism of Biden, despite his own reservations about the president’s ability to win the election.

Meanwhile, Sen. Mark Warner is planning to meet with a group of Democrats next week to discuss Biden’s chances of beating former President Donald Trump. The goal of Warner’s meeting is to gain support from his colleagues and potentially push Biden out of the race, making room for a new candidate who might have a better shot at beating Trump.

However, not all Democrats are on board with the idea of replacing Biden. Sen. John Fetterman, a Democrat who has broken with the left on several issues, has come out in support of Biden, saying that he is the only person who has beaten Trump before and that panicking or freaking out will not improve the situation.
