Harris’s Campaign in Trouble as Polls Show Decline in Support

The latest polls may have flipped Nate Silver’s Electoral College projection, but it’s hard to shake the feeling that Kamala Harris isn’t pulling ahead decisively. In fact, her campaign is facing several challenges, including a lack of interviews and a decline in support among core Democratic voter groups. The polls aren’t painting a rosy picture either, with Trump leading on key issues like crime, immigration, and the economy.

The latest New York Times polling data isn’t doing Harris any favors, and liberals are already crying foul, claiming the polls are too Republican-friendly. This criticism is likely to continue if the latest NYT/Siena surveys don’t show an improvement. Mark Halperin, a former MSNBC analyst, has warned that if this trend continues, Harris is staring at an electoral disaster.

Harris’s desperation to participate in another debate is understandable, given her current situation. She needs a major media event with a friendly press and a controlled environment to showcase her strengths. However, agreeing to a debate on Fox News, which was agreed upon long ago, could be a double-edged sword. Trump’s decision to reject CNN was seen as a smart move, and Harris might be wise to follow suit.
