Democratic FTC Chairwoman Lina Khan has connections to the Law and Political Economy (LPE) Project, a Marxist organization that supported pro-Palestinian protesters at Columbia University. Khan, currently serving as chair of the Federal Trade Commission and an associate professor at Columbia University, has ties to Amy Kapczynski, a faculty co-director with the LPE Project. The LPE movement aims to develop new theories for legal order and promote equality and democracy. Kapczynski has ties to various critical theories, including Marxist feminist thought.

Anti-Israel protests and encampments erupted at Columbia University, leading to suspensions and arrests. The LPE Project, including students from various law schools, shared reflections on the protests. Khan has spoken at LPE Project events on topics like “anti-racist antitrust.” Khan praised Kapczynski at a recent event hosted by the LPE Project.

Truth Voices reached out to Khan for a statement but did not hear back.
