A former fundraiser for President Barack Obama has spoken out about her “divorce” from the Democratic Party and her decision to support President Donald Trump. The individual, Allison Huynh, co-founded Willow Garage, a robotics company, with her ex-husband, Scott Hassan, in 2006.

Huynh and Hassan hosted high-end dinners that cost between $50,000 and $100,000 per plate, according to the New York Post. Huynh, who resides in California, criticized the Democratic Party for focusing on “policing the wrong things” rather than addressing violent crime and making streets safer.

“The Democrats were policing the wrong things,” Huynh stated. “The things that we need to police are violent criminals that are scattered throughout the streets of San Francisco, people defecating, shooting up heroin in front of me and my kids, and allowing criminals to go in and steal from our grocery stores, shutting down grocery stores.”

Huynh, who now identifies as an independent, attended a fundraiser for Trump at Mar-a-Lago and was surprised by his affable demeanor. She described Trump as “light and funny and intelligent.”

Some Democratic donors and officials have opted not to support President Joe Biden. Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel from Michigan revealed in May that he would not vote in the upcoming election due to his disapproval of both Biden and Trump. He stated that “all they do is talk negative about each other.”

Former Democratic donor Jacob Helberg revealed during a Fox Business interview that he now supports Trump. Helberg cited the Democratic Party’s alleged “hijacking” by the Squad and “woke theology” as his reasons for switching allegiance.
