Five American hostages are still being held by Hamas, despite the fact that some hostages have been freed. The hostages include Keith Siegel, Sagui Dekel-Chen, Omer Neutra, Edan Alexander, and Hersh Goldberg-Polin. Each of their stories is unique and tragic.
Hersh Goldberg-Polin was captured by Hamas during an attack on Israel, where he bravely tried to protect himself and others. Keith Siegel and his wife were taken hostage and sold to Hamas, with Aviva Siegel later being released. Sagui Dekel-Chen fought against Hamas terrorists to protect his family and community. Edan Alexander, a soldier in the Israeli Defense Forces, was taken hostage while stationed near the Gaza Strip. Omer Neutra, also serving in the IDF, was captured during the same attack as Edan.
Despite the lack of attention from leaders, the American people have not forgotten about these hostages and continue to hope for their safe return.
