Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) expressed confidence that former President Donald Trump will not win Pennsylvania in the upcoming election, despite acknowledging that the race will be tightly contested. In an appearance on CBS’s Face the Nation, Fetterman discussed recent polling data that suggests Pennsylvania voters believe Trump would be better for their financial well-being and for gas and oil exploration compared to Biden.
Fetterman emphasized that while the race will be competitive, he is not worried about Trump winning the state again. He highlighted that Joe Biden previously defeated Trump in Pennsylvania and is poised to do so again. Fetterman also noted that oil and gas exploration will not be the defining issue of the election.
The polling data, conducted by YouGov and released by CBS News, surveyed 1,306 registered voters in Pennsylvania between April 19-25 with a margin of error of +/-3.1%. Fetterman emphasized that the upcoming election will offer voters a stark choice between the candidates, as Trump is currently the presumptive nominee for the Republican Party.
Fetterman, who is currently in Florida campaigning for Biden, noted that Pennsylvania was won by Trump in 2016 but went to Biden in 2020. Despite recent polling indicating a slight advantage for Trump, Fetterman remains confident in Biden’s ability to secure the state once again.
