Retired FBI profiler Jim Clemente, host of the “Real Crime Profile” podcast, says that he firmly believes suspected Gilgo Beach serial killer Rex Heuermann will be connected to more murders.
“The real killer is Rex Heuermann, and all the evidence points to that, allegedly at this point,” Clemente said. “The ritualistic behavior sticks to all of them.”
Heuermann is set to appear in court this week after authorities searched his suburban home and a wooded area in Long Island.
Heuermann, who pleaded not guilty in the deaths of four women whose remains were discovered along a remote beach highway, will have a court appearance on Thursday in Riverhead, New York.
Heuermann, 60, was arrested last summer in connection with the deaths of Melissa Barthelemy, Megan Waterman, Amber Costello, and Maureen Brainard-Barnes. He has denied the charges. A trial date has not been set yet.
The case has puzzled investigators since the remains of 11 individuals, mostly young women who were sex workers, were found on Gilgo Beach between 2010 and 2011. The investigation into the other victims is still ongoing.
