The arrest of Christian Inga, 25, accused of raping a 13-year-old in New York, was made possible after a good Samaritan, Daniel Ramos, and others recognized him from police sketches and social media tips. After the NYPD released the suspect’s photos, a group of people familiar with Inga’s frequenting a local bodega decided to set up an ambush.

As Inga arrived at the bodega, the group reportedly overpowered and held him down as he struggled until police arrived. Ramos told Truth Voices’ Vargas Reports that he had nothing to do with Inga’s attempts to explain himself, stating, “He tried to get away and said he didn’t care what he did.”

Inga, an Ecuadorian migrant who entered the U.S. illegally in 2021 with a 3-year-old child, is now charged with rape, sex abuse, robbery, kidnapping, and other crimes. The case is expected to appear in court on Wednesday. Prior to his arrest, Inga had been arrested multiple times, including for domestic violence, but was never convicted.

His DNA was taken during his first arrest, but he was released pending a court date. Inga has made his way to New York, where he will now face justice for his alleged crimes. He is expected to be remanded to custody during his next court appearance.
