In a concerning incident at a Nordstrom store in Lakewood, Colorado, a woman took action against an alleged “peeping Tom” she caught filming her in a dressing room on Saturday. Michelle Chandler, who later shared the ordeal on Instagram, managed to detain a young man she claimed was recording her as she tried on clothes. Her post, which included a video and a photo, showed her wrestling the suspect to the ground and pinning him.

Chandler, a mother of five, urged women to be vigilant and recounted her experience in the shared clip, explaining that the male suspect was able to film her due to the store’s gender-neutral fitting rooms. According to her, store employees were present but were instructed to stay out of the situation, leaving her to hold the suspect in a headlock for nearly 20 minutes until police arrived.

Upon arrival, authorities detained the young man, who was found to be carrying a knife. Chandler expressed her intention to press charges him and voiced her concern over the contents of his phone and the potential number of other women he might have victimized. She also criticized bystanders who observed and recorded the incident without intervening.

Chandler spoke with local news station KDVR-TV, revealing that she was shopping for Mother’s Day when she noticed a man’s shoes and a phone pointed at her from under the dressing room partition. Instead of waiting for law enforcement, she took prompt action to subdue the intruder herself.

Expressing her dismay, Chandler asserted that men should not have access to women’s private spaces such as fitting rooms, bathrooms, and other areas traditionally reserved for women.
