CNN’s Dr. Sanjay Gupta Urges President Biden to Undergo Cognitive and Movement Disorder Evaluation

CNN commentator Dr. Sanjay Gupta, a neurosurgeon, has expressed concerns about President Joe Biden’s cognitive abilities following his recent debate performance. Gupta believes that Biden should undergo a cognitive test to alleviate concerns about his mental acuity.

Gupta explained that, in his opinion, the president’s behavior during the debate was “unusual” and “concerning”. He noted that Biden’s speech stumbled, and he appeared confused and disoriented at times. Although these behaviors, taken individually, are not diagnostic of cognitive decline, they are cause for concern when viewed collectively.

According to Gupta, his medical colleagues are in agreement that Biden should undergo a comprehensive cognitive and movement disorder evaluation. In an op-ed piece, Gupta recounted conversations with doctors and specialists who shared his concerns about Biden’s performance. He emphasized that the lack of transparency surrounding the president’s mental health and cognitive abilities is problematic, especially given the upcoming election.

Gupta stressed that the observations made about Biden’s behavior during the debate do not constitute a diagnosis, but rather a reason to advocate for detailed testing. He believes that it is essential for the president to undergo cognitive and movement disorder testing and that the results be made public. The absence of clear information about Biden’s cognitive abilities, Gupta argued, is concerning and may undermine public confidence in his leadership.
