Biden’s Support in Hollywood in Jeopardy as Donors Lose Confidence

Despite Biden’s disastrous debate performance, his team is urging Hollywood donors to overlook the incident and continue funding his reelection campaign. In a last-ditch effort to salvage the situation, Hailey Sasse, the Southern California Finance Director for the Biden Victory Funds, asked donors to “wait and see” before pulling their support.

Sasse sent an email to donors, attempting to downplay the significance of the debate and the subsequent criticism from the press. The email claimed that polling numbers indicate voters’ opinions were not greatly altered, and that the election will ultimately come down to individual battleground states.

However, multiple high-profile donors are having second thoughts about supporting Biden’s campaign. A close advisor to several donors revealed that most are unwilling to continue funding the Democratic Party as long as Biden remains the nominee. “It’s hard to see how we keep supporting him. He needs to dig deep about whether he can in good conscience be our nominee,” the advisor, Hannah Linkenhoker, said.

Notable donors like Steven Spielberg, his wife Kate Capshaw, and J.J. Abrams have already contributed to Biden’s campaign. However, an anonymous Hollywood insider confirmed that many of these high-profile individuals are withholding their donations until Biden drops out of the 2024 race. The source revealed that numerous text chains are circulating among donors, with many expressing their willingness to boycott the Democratic Party if Biden remains the nominee.

“It’s super intense,” the source said, highlighting the widespread discontent among these influential donors.
