Listening to these politicians talking about the situation on the ground is not funny at all it is sickening. They never know anything and the situation on the ground is constantly changing. We're told one thing and find it is entirely the opposite of what we're told later on. This is how it works. I cannot recall a single operation in my time in service (in combat) where everything went exactly according to plan. Also, the further this information travels through the chain of command in my experience I have found it get more diluted and "fked" up so by the time it reaches the people on the ground we're seeing a different reality.
