Republican Senator Ted Cruz called on the Biden administration to investigate reports of communist China and Cuba funding radical left-wing organizations to incite anti-Israel and anti-American protests in the U.S. Cruz emphasized that these externally funded campaigns aim to create chaos, weaken the country, and sow division. He highlighted the involvement of these foreign entities in funding protests on U.S. campuses, amounting to potentially $100 million to destabilize America.
Cruz expressed skepticism about the Department of Justice and FBI taking action due to politicization under the current administration. He urged for an investigation into tax-exempt organizations financing campus protests linked to foreign governments and terrorist groups.
The Senator also criticized elite institutions for tolerating antisemitic behavior, citing instances at Duke University and Columbia University. He suggested consequences such as detailing protest actions on transcripts when revoking diplomas may not be feasible.
Furthermore, Cruz advised parents to consider the political climate of universities, especially in blue states, warning that such institutions may be radicalized and less protective of students, particularly Jewish students. He accused President Biden of neglecting federal civil rights enforcement and ignoring the involvement of Chinese and Cuban communist money and supporters behind these protests.
