Police in Oklahoma City and Bensalem Township, near Philadelphia, are utilizing drones to assist in catching suspects, particularly those involved in petty theft and shoplifting. The use of drones is becoming more common as retail chains in the area grapple with increased incidents of theft.

In a recent case in Tucson, Arizona, two women were caught on security footage stealing $74,000 worth of skincare products from multiple Target stores. Three individuals were arrested in connection with this crime spree. Similarly, in Georgia, Gwinnett County police apprehended a shoplifting suspect with the help of aviation and police dogs.

Oklahoma City Police Sgt. Dillon Quirk spoke to “Truth Voices Now” about the effectiveness of their drone initiative. He emphasized that drones are not only safe for officers to use but also allow them to cover a large area quickly, assisting in locating suspects who may be evading capture.

Quirk highlighted that drones can significantly reduce the time needed for search efforts, especially when paired with K9 units. He reassured that privacy concerns are addressed by conducting targeted surveillance with drones following specific routes.

Overall, the use of drones in law enforcement activities is proving to be beneficial in enhancing efficiency and effectiveness in catching suspects.
