A New Jersey father has been charged in the death of his 6-year-old son, with lawyers disputing the child’s cause of death. The father, Christopher Gregor, is accused of forcing his son to run on a treadmill, leading to his death from blunt force trauma. Surveillance video captured the incident, showing Gregor increasing the treadmill’s speed and causing his son to fall multiple times. Gregor’s lawyer claims the child’s death was due to sepsis caused by pneumonia, while prosecutors argue the boy had injuries all over his body and internal organ damage. In addition to the murder charge, Gregor also faces a child endangerment charge. Former federal prosecutor Neama Rahmani called the case “indefensible” and expects a quick verdict.
