The trial of former President Donald Trump in New York is set to resume on Monday, with prosecutors calling more witnesses to establish that Trump concealed hush money payments to influence the 2016 presidential election.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s team has already questioned eight witnesses, including some high-profile individuals. However, key witness Michael Cohen, has yet to appear, along with other significant figures in the case, such as Stormy Daniels, Kellyanne Conway, and Allen Weisselberg.

Prosecutors have kept their plans for witnesses under wraps, but Stormy Daniels has expressed her readiness to testify. The question remains whether Trump himself will take the stand to defend against the allegations.

Cohen’s credibility has come under scrutiny, given his past actions and statements leading up to the trial. However, he is expected to provide crucial firsthand accounts of Trump’s involvement in the illegal hush money scheme.

Various witnesses, including David Pecker and Keith Davidson, have already testified about their roles in the hush money payments, shedding light on Trump’s motivations and actions during the 2016 campaign.

Hope Hicks also provided testimony, detailing the campaign’s efforts to address Trump’s image with women leading up to the election. Prosecutors aim to show that Trump’s hush money payments were motivated by a desire to aid his campaign, while Trump’s defense argues there were other motivations at play.
